Guided Tours Tours of Ashtabula and Woodburn are offered throughout the year. The cost of admission goes towards supporting the Pendleton Historic Foundation. |
As guests sit out under the 130 year old tree canopy, costumed volunteers will portray 19th century Pendletonians. Each "character" will be introduced to the audience via a short skit. Visiting Ashtabula this year are: James Latta, master of Ashtabula during the 1850s; Caroline Taliaferro, who had her wedding party at Ashtabula in 1844; Mr. William Middleton, staunch states right advocate, visiting Mr. Latta in the late 1850s; Clarissa Adger Bowen, mistress of Ashtabula during the Civil War; a local tenant farmer's wife; and the infamous Manse Jolly.
