Meet the Pendletonians
Saturday, June 1
At Ashtabula - 10 AM -$5 per Car
As guests sit out under the 130 year old tree canopy, costumed volunteers will portray 19th century Pendletonians. Each "character" will be introduced to the audience via a short skit. Visiting Ashtabula this year are: James Latta, master of Ashtabula during the 1850s; Caroline Taliaferro, who had her wedding party at Ashtabula in 1844; Mr. William Middleton, staunch states right advocate, visiting Mr. Latta in the late 1850s; Clarissa Adger Bowen, mistress of Ashtabula during the Civil War; a local tenant farmer's wife; and the infamous Manse Jolly. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
Tours of Ashtabula will be available from 11 AM - 4 PM for a reduced admission price of $4.
