Learn About the History of the South
Life for students in the 1800’s was much different than what we experience today, but this makes it even more important to preserve their history. Now we can look back at their daily activities and see what it would have been like to grow up during this time period!
Click on your age group to find out more information about life in the 1800’s for both people on plantations like Woodburn and Ashtabula and for Native Americans. One child in particular who grew up at Woodburn, Jane E. Hunter, is now a prominent historical figure, and her story can be found here, too.
